_What is "Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)" ?

Bus Rapid Transit, often abbreviated as BRT.
BRT is a bus-based mass transit system which generally has specialized design, services and infrastructure to improve system quality and remove the typical causes of delay by quieter and less polluting vehicles. Sometimes described as an "Intelligent Transportation", the flexibility, lower cost and simplicity of a bus system, BRT aims to combine the fast and convenient payment system compared with the MRT, LRT, etc.
BRT has been favored by many cities of the world committed to providing high-quality public transport services with significant positive externalities. The first full featured BRT, the Rede Integrada de Transporte (Integrated Transportation Network),was implemented in Curitiba, Brazil. This application was adapted to transit corridors in places like Ottawa(Canada), Brisbane( Australia), Bogota(Colombia) and some U.S. cities. The influence of the BRT-related benefits has been planned to construct Taipei BRT bus lanes by Institute of Transportation, MOTC, another for Taichung.
